Little Elm, TX school ratings and districts take a little more homework than in most towns, because four school districts serve parts of Little Elm. Here is which districts they are, their official state ratings and how to confirm the campus for a home.

Which school districts serve Little Elm?

Little Elm ISD covers most of the town. Denton ISD serves the US 380 corridor, including Spiritas Ranch and Union Park. Frisco ISD serves part of the east side, including parts of Sunset Pointe and Frisco Ranch, and Aubrey ISD serves a small area.

Some Denton ISD campuses in this area use Aubrey or Little Elm mailing addresses, so the mailing city does not tell you the district.

What are the official district ratings?

The Texas Education Agency's TXschools.gov lists these overall district ratings for the 2025-26 school year:

Little Elm ISD: C, 78 out of 100. Denton ISD: C, 76 out of 100. Frisco ISD: A, 91 out of 100. Aubrey ISD: C, 77 out of 100.

District ratings are averages across many campuses. TXschools.gov also shows campus ratings and how scores are built, so review the specific campuses tied to an address.

How does school assignment work?

Each district assigns campuses by attendance zone. Little Elm ISD and Denton ISD both publish address lookup tools, and Frisco ISD posts its zones each year. Boundaries change as new neighborhoods open, which happens often along US 380.

Are there choice or charter options?

Each district sets its own transfer and program rules, so ask the district about transfers, specialized programs and application dates. Charter and private schools in the area run their own admissions.
