Sanibel school ratings and districts start with the School District of Lee County, which serves the whole island. Which school district serves Sanibel?

The School District of Lee County runs the public schools serving Sanibel. For the 2025-2026 school year, the district reported an overall "B" rating. How does The Sanibel School work?

The Sanibel School serves kindergarten through 8th grade on the island. Under the district's enrollment plan, any student in Lee County may request it. District buses are not provided for that choice.

Registration for the next school year opens the first Monday in November. It runs through the FOCUS parent portal, where families also file the school choice application.
